Two people were arrested Monday after someone allegedly spotted them picking off a package from a doorstep in Orinda and placing it in the bed of their rental truck, according to Chief Mark Nagel.

Nagel said his officers were “immediately alerted” and were able to stop the truck on Moraga Way at Orchard.

“Officers approached the truck and spoke to the suspects who were out of Concord,” Nagel said. “They were arrested (on) conspiracy, petty theft, mail theft, resisting arrest, probation violation and possession of a controlled substance (charges).  They are being transported to Martinez Detention Facility for booking.”

  1. Good job OPD!

I wish UPS, Fed Ex, etc. wouldn’t leave packages on the porch just because they want to get their route done, but it’s the world we live in.
