Unsteady Tree Prompts Evacuations In Lafayette Saturday
An unsteady, double-trunked tree forced the evacuation of several apartment units in Lafayette on Saturday, crews hearing the tree cracking as it leaned precariously to utilities and other infrastructure. Several units are on scene at 14 Vista Via, with buildings on Marlene Drive and Vista Via evacuated until the tree could be secured.
