Orinda BART Closed After Person Reportedly Hit Monday
One person is believed dead after they were struck by a BART train in Orinda Monday, officials closing the station to facilitate the recovery and investigation into the incident.
The train was de-powered and a recovery effort mobilized shortly after the fatality was reported at 4:32 p.m. Officials are treating the incident as a possible suicide.
A “bus bridge” ferried stranded passengers from Orinda to Lafayette so those riders could continue their journeys.
