Concord, Walnut Creek Beset By Multiple Burglaries Wednesday; Possible Arrests In Concord

Suspicious

A flurry of brazen kick-in burglaries ripped through Concord and Walnut Creek this morning, thieves putting the boot to resident’s front doors and making off with everything from guns to electronics.

Concord Police did stop a carload of suspected burglars on Kaitlin Place, detaining the occupants at gunpoint and processing the car. This is ongoing (12:04 p.m. as this is written). It was not immediately known what, if anything, was recovered from the car – a silver Honda.

Meanwhile, police in Walnut Creek were looking for another Honda in connection with a kick-in burglary on Candleberry as well as another in their city. There was no immediate information on whether the crimes were linked in any way to the incidents in Concord.

Investigators are still tabulating the number of break-ins – with some residents expected to contact police later as they may not be aware their home was victimized.

This story is breaking. We’ll have more as additional details emerge. It was not immediately known if this particularly flurry was related in any way to a similar recent flurry in San Ramon – though burglars in those crimes appeared to favor gaining access to the back yard of a targeted home before breaking the glass of a rear window or sliding door.
