The attached video is of an old theft at the old Apple store in Walnut Creek, kindly submitted by a reader when the store was hit a year or two ago.

The “new” store was hit this morning, this time with a crew of three young women in hoodies swarming the store and stealing several iPhones in much the same manner – pushing an employee on their way out.

Police are looking for the trio, believed to be black females in their late teens, early twenties, wearing different style of hoodies and with their faces obscured.

The crew is believed to have struck another Apple location in Emeryville earlier this morning.

Hmm. I wonder if that could be in the silver sedan westbound on Mount Diablo Blvd. that drove into oncoming traffic, nearly causing a collision with cars entering from Alpine, at about 11:15 today?

They sure seemed to be in a hurry!

No one told us about a car associated with this theft, Tom, but you could be right!

You’ve said that much of this is tied to organized criminal gangs who target specific stores — but have authorities found where these stolen good are ending up?

    • NEWS24-680 on Aug 11, 2019 at 6:42 pm

Hey, Kim, we’ve heard some of it is being stolen “to order,” other stuff is turning up at flea markets and online sales forums.
