Shots Fired, At Least One Person Hit, Outside Walnut Creek Liquor Store Thursday
Firefighters and police converged on a parking lot in the 1200 block of Newell Avenue Thursday after receiving reports of shots fired in the area – and a car leaving the area with damage possibly caused by gunfire.
Two people may have been hit and a third, believed to be an innocent bystander wounded by a stray bullet, has turned up at a local hospital after shots were fired outside Newell Liquors. Another person is believed to have gone to John Muir Hospital. Their conditions were not immediately known.
Police interest appears to be focused on a car at that location. A police perimeter appears to be going up and officers are processing the scene for evidence.
Details remain sketchy at this time, as the incident was only just reported at 6:25 p.m.
Witnesses reported seeing a black Cadillac Escalade, occupied by black male adults and with a damaged rear window, leaving the area shortly after the incident.
