Man Shot, Killed During Marijuana Robbery In Pleasant Hill Saturday Night

Pleasant Hill police responding to a report of a man with gunshot wounds found a man who had been shot multiple times inside a residence in the 2100 block of Norse Drive late Saturday night.

Although lifesaving measures were taken, the man was declared dead shortly after the call was received at 11:14 p.m. Preliminary information is that the dead man was killed during an apparent marijuana robbery.

Police identified the victim as Oshry Elor, 23, of Pleasant Hill. A man of that name played football at College Park High School, listed as a 6-foot-3-inch, 340 pound defensive tackle who graduated from the school – virtually across the street from the scene of Saturday’s shooting – before attending Diablo Valley Junior College, also nearby.

Police quickly threw up a perimeter around the area where the shooting occurred Saturday and issued a description for a man believed connected to the shooting but did not release that information Sunday morning.

People inside the residence where the shooting occurred where led out of the house and interviewed by officers and detectives Saturday night.

Police said the investigation is active and that no further information is being released at this time.

The homicide is the first reported in the city since 2012.

  1. My, how our world has changed. Kind of glad none of the parents who gave us such wonderful neighborhoods, schools and childhoods in the Diablo Valley are here to see this. Sad day.

  2. People were killed over drugs in the 60s and 70s. You just didn’t have the internet or local news sites reporting it.

  3. Police aren’t saying if he was a victim or not? Was this a home invasion type rip off with the residents fighting back?

  4. Over marijuana? That makes absolutely no sense. Are we talking about some great amount worth what? Thousands?

  5. @Robert Hale apparently the house where he was killed was a “drug house” and that neighbors had complained to police about all the traffic in and out at all hours.

    From ABC7

Neighbors say the house where the shooting happened has been a problem and a nuisance for more than a year. Several neighbors who declined to be identified say they have called police multiple times in the past about alleged drug activity at the house.

“We’re seeing constant traffic in and out at all hours, I don’t know what was going on but I knew it had to be drugs,” said a neighbor.

Police would not comment how many times they have responded to the home.

A man at the Norse Drive home had no comment about the crime.
