Lafayette police say a flurry of burglaries and attempted burglaries in their city were likely committed by the same person or crew of burglars between 7 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. Friday – using Deer Hill Road, Happy Valley Road, and Stanley Blvd. to access their targets.

Police are asking residents with camera systems in these areas to check their archives for images of the suspects or their mode of transport.

Investigators said they first became aware someone was at work in the area at 8:14 p.m.Ā Friday, when officers were dispatched to the report of a residential burglary in the 1600 Block of Springbrook Road.FrenchDoorEntry

Officers checkingĀ the home found the suspect(s) had fled the residenceĀ after makingĀ entry byĀ forcing open a locked window. Once inside the home the suspect(s) ransacked the interior and removed various items of property. The home was vacant between 4:30 pm and 8:14 pm. The home was processed by CSI personnel with several items of evidence collected from the home.

Police were called again atĀ at 8:53 p.m. Friday, with officers dispatched to a suspicious circumstance in the 1200 Block of Franklin Lane. A resident there reported an unknown subject rang his doorbell. When he responded to the door, he saw a vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed. Concerned about the incident, the resident attempted to set his home alarm system. The alarm system would not set due to an error from one of the alarm zones. When the homeowner checked the zone, he found the side garage door had been forced open. Officers checking the area believe the suspects forced entry to the garage and realized that someone may be inside the residence. They then checked the front door, hearing someone inside the home, they fled the scene.

The third incident of the evening occurred in the 3700 Block of Happy Valley Road, police said, with officers arriving to findĀ that entry had been made by no suspects present. Officers discovered that entry had been forced through a set of French Doors that face to the rear yard. The interior of the home had been searched, but officers were unable to verify if any property had been removed from the home. The home is equipped with an internal security camera system. A review of the system identified that a single suspect exited the home at 8:38 p.m. CSI personnel processed the home and several items of evidence were recovered.

Residents who may have information that may aidĀ investigators are asked to email the policeĀ tip line (94549Tip@gmail.com) or telephone theĀ dispatch center at (925) 284-5010.
