Art in the Park Returns for Its 55th Year

For 55 years, Art in the Park has brought artists and art lovers together in downtown Martinez to celebrate creativity and connection while supporting local arts education. This beloved tradition returns on Sunday, August 16, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., when the Martinez Arts Association (MAA) welcomes visitors to Susana Park for a free day of art, music, food, and family fun.

More than 60 local artists will exhibit fine art and handcrafted works in a wide variety of media and styles. Visitors can browse original artwork, meet the artists, and discover one-of-a-kind pieces while enjoying the relaxed park setting.

Live entertainment will be featured throughout the day with performances by Tom & Erik, Delta Deuce, The UnConcord, Whiskey Dreams, and Robinson Street. Returning emcee Roy Jeans will keep the festivities moving, while food trucks and a selection of wine, beer, and other beverages will be available. Guests can also participate in the popular Silent Auction, featuring unique items donated by artists and local businesses.

Held beneath the shade trees of Susana Park, the event offers plenty of seating and a welcoming atmosphere. Free parking is available nearby, parking meters are not enforced on Sundays, and a complimentary golf cart shuttle will run continuously between the Main Street Plaza near Starbucks and the park.

Art in the Park is MAA’s largest annual fundraiser and is organized entirely by volunteer board members and community volunteers. Founded in 1968, the Martinez Arts Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting local artists and expanding arts education. Proceeds from the event fund scholarships for graduating high school seniors and provide classroom art grants for teachers throughout the Martinez Unified School District.
