More Trouble In Walnut Creek Monday: Car Fire On I-680 South
It sometimes takes a day or two to untangle the details of a crash or some other traumatic event which disrupts the lives of participants – and dispels the theories of armchair crash investigators opining from their living room.
We started hearing from the driver of a 2017 Ford Escape which burned down to the hubcaps on I-680 near SR-24 yesterday and he confirmed that events were kind of “a blur” and a few other things, as well.
“Was driving on the freeway normally and all of a sudden all of my dash lights come on and I lose all power including brakes. I get over to the shoulder and – poof – car gone,” Cory wrote. “Tried to get my stuff from the car but flames were coming under the dash. The fire department got there so fast but there was no chance. The red Tesla was an angel. Helped talk me through a time…”
Nice. Straight from the driver’s mouth, and in the end all he could do was “stand back and watch my baby burn…”
So, no burning Tesla, no Lithium Battery involved, no Alien abductions… just the facts, man.
Thanks, Cory. Glad you reached out. Nice to hear about the angelic Tesla Man…
