    Project Peace is pleased to announce Dr. Katharine Hayhoe as their keynote speaker hosted by Piedmont Community Church on May 18, 2025 from 4 – 5:30 pm.

    Hayhoe is an atmospheric scientist whose research focuses on understanding the impacts of climate change on people and the planet. She is the Chief Scientist for The Nature Conservancy and a distinguished professor and endowed chair at Texas Tech University. She has received numerous awards, honorary degrees, and recognitions for her work, including being named one of the TIME 100 most influential people and a United National Champion of the Earth.

    Her topic will be “A Climate Scientist’s Case for Hope and Healing in a Divided World,” inspired by material in her most recent book.

    Called “one of the nation’s most effective communicators on climate change” by The New York Times and named one of Christianity Today’s “50 Women to Watch,” Hayhoe brings clarity, compassion, and credibility to a topic that affects us all

    Project Peace is on a mission to help communities flourish in the San Francisco East Bay. They mobilize volunteers and resources to serve their trusted community partners as they pursue justice. The organization strives to educate the community on issues that impact the vulnerable and works alongside organizations that recognize the agency and dignity of the poor.
