Hydrant Shear Draws A Crowd In Walnut Creek Saturday

Firefighter and driver survey resultant geyser following crash at 555 Ygnacio in Walnut Creek.

Photos from the scene of that gusher on Ygnacio Valley Road this afternoon, right in front of… well, you can read the address. It was impressive, with firefighters stopping to admire it’s spoutiness and the poor driver worried about his future employment (Hey, UPS, cut the poor guy some slack!) Anyway, the flow has been stopped and a lot of old friends had a moment to catch up with each after all was said and done at the scene…

Man, That Water Is Cold!

Good Day for a Dip

    So…what happened?

So, UPS driver got a little wide, clipped a hydrant, made a whoosh and required a full turnout of firefighters to shut it off and a squad of police people to keep traffic orderly.

Yes, hard to hide the mistake when there’s a 35-foot column of water gushing! We hope his company is forgiving… could’ve happened to anyone, and does!

Rushing to judgment? Look again. The UPS truck looks 20′ away from the hydrant.
Are you sure he did it? Possibly he’s just standing there seeing things himself while making a delivery?
