Injury Crash In Concord Wednesday; One Believed Dead

Witnesses reported a possible hit-and-run crash with serious injury at Port Chicago Highway and Willow Pass Road in Concord Wednesday night.

Bystanders said an apparent wrong-way driver in a blue Toyota struck a red car at the intersection, seriously injuring the two occupants. Several witnesses reported seeing first responders administering life saving measures at the scene, but there was no official word on the extent of the injuries.

Several people expressed fear the crash had been fatal, though there was no official confirmation of that belief.

There was also no official confirmation that the driver of the vehicle witnesses felt had been at fault was extricated from the wreckage and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
