A woman walking in a San Ramon neighborhood had an expensive ring forcibly removed from her finger by a couple who pulled up alongside her in a white SUV Saturday.

The incident occurred in the area of Pembroke Way and was reported at approximately 2 p.m. It was not immediately known how much time transpired between the occurrence and when the victim was able to summon help.

Initial reports are that the “elderly” victim was surprised when a white SUV with black trim suddenly pulled alongside as she walked, someone pulling her arm inside the vehicle and removing her ring – valued at several thousand dollars.

The victim was not believed to have been physically injured. She described her assailants as a dark complected male with a beard, between 30 and 35 years old and wearing a mask, who was behind the wheel, and a white female in a green dress and possibly a hijab-style head covering, with distinctive “caps” or dental appliances on her front teeth, sitting in the back seat.

  1. Shameful and I hope they are caught and I hope police are able to give the victim a little time alone with them – after giving her a baseball bat.
