A pair of apparently unrelated burglary calls – one believed successful, the other under investigation – brought police, their helicopters and dogs on the run Saturday.
The first incident was reported at approximately 3:30 p.m. when an Orinda resident contacted police after burglars made off with several shotguns from the garage of a residence on Bobolink Road. No suspect information was immediately available although a “small, white car” was reportedly spotted leaving the neighborhood.
Later, at approximately 5 p.m., Lafayette police with backup from neighboring jurisdictions responded to a report of a burglary in the 3300 block of Betty Lane. Two persons on the property at the time were detained by police as a Contra Costa County Sheriff’s helicopter orbited overhead.
Nothing was believed taken from the residence and police were reportedly investigating a possible connection between one of the people detained and the homeowner.

A few weeks ago there were three police cars with their lights on surrounding some car in the baseball park parking lot with a very unhappy looking person being questioned, so perhaps this is becoming an area of interest for those up to no good.
Thereās an AA chapter that meets at the baseball fields building.
Sometimes recovering addicts are criminals, too.
āSometimes recovering addicts are criminals, too.ā That is the stupidest and most ignorant comment I think Iāve ever read on this page – and thatās saying a lot.
