Martinez Cannabis Distributor Robbed At Gunpoint Wednesday

Police are searching for three, possibly as many as four men who robbed a cannabis distributor as he was delivering to Embarc Cannabis Dispensary in Martinez a little after noon Wednesday, brandishing guns and making off with a large amount of cannabis and the victim’s personal belongings.

The brazen robbery was reported at approximately 12:11 p.m. Officers quickly located the unharmed 36-year-old male victim and learned that three suspects, described as black male adults wearing masks, had robbed him at gunpoint while he was arriving to deliver cannabis to the business, 3503 Alhambra Avenue.

Two of the three suspects, who were armed with semi-automatic handguns, approached the victim and stole from the delivery vehicle, police said. The suspects fled the scene in a newer model black Honda sedan. The suspect vehicle had a small dent on the back of the vehicle above the rear license plate.

  1. And unfortunately it’s going to get much worse! I say this because our laws/DAs/ politicians now allow this. PLUS you have a worsening economy really begining to hurt people and the holidays are coming up.

    • @Greg – I call shenanigans!

Please cite the statute (the law) that “allows” armed robbery. Penal Code section 211 literally defines robbery as “the felonious taking of personal property in the possession of another, from his person or immediate presence, and against his will, accomplished by means of force or fear.” Section 212.5(c) provides that the crime described in this article is second degree robbery, which is “is punishable by imprisonment in the state prison for two, three, or five years” under section 213.5(2).

Zero DAs, anywhere, have categorically declared a non-prosecution policy with respect to such crimes.

    • “worsening economy”? Are you kidding me? California is projected to have another surplus, $$$31 BILLION DOLLARS. BART riders are going to be packed hip to hip, jowl to jowl, all over again. And the roads? Fagetaboutit! Prosperity baby! It has consequences!

Apparently you don’t read the business news. California produces more than the United Kingdom, and the Kingdom has a most excellent Queen! Have you seen retail sales numbers? The question answers itself. So, HATE California at your leisure. That’s your pleasure. That’s your prerogative. California is imperfect.
