Livermore police are looking for the driver of a brown Toyota Tundra after he allegedly objected to being stopped by a traffic officer by throwing the truck into reverse and rolling over the officer’s motorcycle, disabling it.

The move unseated the officer, who police said had to scramble into a lane of traffic to avoid being hit during the Friday morning incident. He was treated for unspecified injuries and later released.

Fellow officers responding to their colleague’s call for help chased the Toyota as it sped from the area but eventually lost it after the driver began to take potentially dangerous evasive action.

Livermore Police Chief Jeramy Young condemned the attack, calling it “absolutely unacceptable.”

The Livermore Police Department is seeking community assistance and asking anyone with information or video regarding this assault to contact them via their Tip-Line at (925) 371-4790, reference LPD Case # 21-2668. Callers may remain anonymous.
