Local police are searching for a small, white Audi SUV spotted leaving the scene of an attempted catalytic converter theft on Sussex Court in San Ramon Wednesday morning.

Neighbors report that a woman in the car brandished a small pistol at the car’s owner after he interrupted the theft. No shots were fired and no injuries reported.

The incident happened at approximately 7 a.m. Descriptions remain initially sketchy, but agreed that two people – a man and woman, possibly Hispanic – were in the car after the man allegedly tried to take a catalytic converter.

The Audi reportedly has tinted windows. The pistol was described as a small revolver.
