A 26 year old Bay Point resident is facing multiple charges after he was found to be in possession of a stolen vehicle and other items Thursday morning.

Danville Police Chief Allan Shields said that at 6:10 a.m. officers responded to the area of Sycamore Valley Road and I-680 after receiving a notification from the Town’s Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) system of a stolen vehicle passing by one of the ALPR cameras.

Officers located the vehicle in the parking lot of the Black Bear Diner, 807 Camino Ramon.  Officers contacted the driver, identified as Arba Sullivan, 26, of Bay Point.  The vehicle Sullivan was driving, a white 2018 Honda Accord was reported stolen on September 10 from San Ramon.  A search of the vehicle also found several other stolen items including, backpacks, mail and personal identifying information belonging to local residents.

In addition, officers located burglary tools, two Airsoft weapons (a rifle and pistol), and a BB gun in the passenger compartment of the vehicle. Both Airsoft guns had their orange tips and other markings removed.

Sullivan was taken into custody and transported to Martinez Detention Facility on charges of possession of a stolen automobile, possession of stolen property, identity theft, burglary, and possession of burglary tools.

Chief Shields said he was pleased with the arrest, and with the assistance the police department received from the ALPR system.

“This was a situation where having the technological assistance of the ALPR allowed our officers to pinpoint their search for this stolen vehicle, recover that vehicle, and take a criminal into custody.”

  1. Congratulations and thank you Danville law enforcement! You are the best!
My only worry is that our liberal DA or Bay Area judge is probably going to relase this criminal back out on the streets tomorrow to prey on us innocent citizens again.
