San Ramon Man Dies After I680 Crash In Walnut Creek Monday

A 63-year-old San Ramon man died at John Muir Hospital after he was injured in a grinding crash on northbound Interstate 680 in Walnut Creek Monday.

Two cars, a vintage black 1974 Porsche and a Jeep SUV were involved in the crash with the Porsche operator sustaining, identified as Richard Adeokun of San Ramon suffering major injuries at the scene, just north of the North Main Street offramp. Adeokun died later at the hospital.

Two people in the Jeep suffered minor injuries, according to the CHP.

The crash was reported at 11:58 a.m. with a traffic-clearing SigAlert declared minutes later. Numerous vehicles pulled over to render aid, witnesses said.

    Very sorry to hear this news but we passed the crash and it did not look good. We were hoping for a better outcome.

    The man in the Porsche passed me on the freeway 1-2 minutes before the crash. So very sad to hear he died.

      Yes. My neighbor said the same thing. She was still shaking when we talked. We were on the road and got your flash alert which kept us out of the traffic but we were very sorry to hear someone lost his life in this.
