UPDATE: 7:30 a.m. Tuesday: Officials hope to have Moraga Road reopened to traffic by noon today.
Power is slowly creeping back on for hundreds of homeowners in Lafayette and Moraga after several trees toppled along Moraga Road, bringing power and communications lines down with them.
Moraga Road is currently closed and traffic is being re-directed. Power lines were draped across one car, a Prius, at the scene where the trees toppled but no one has been reported injured at this time.
PG&E is reporting that approximately 1,000 homes are without power in Moraga and Lafayette, with service being restored as we speak (6:30 p.m.).
Officials have closed Moraga Road between Old Jonas Hill and Nephi Court in order to facilitate repairs.
Did we say something to anger Mother Nature?
STILLCLOSED!!!!!
