Coach Beam’s Legacy Foundation Announces Its First-ever Service Award Winners at Oakland Ballers Game

Tribute to Coach John Beam on Wednesday, August 12, at Raimondi Park, West Oakland

WHAT: Coach Beam’s Legacy Foundation will announce the first two Bay Area winners of the 2026 Coach Beam Service Award.

WHO: Two coaches from Hayward High School and Pittsburg High School will each receive a Coach Beam Service Award. Coach Beam’s Legacy Foundation representatives and family members will be present for the mid-game announcement.

WHEN: Wednesday, August 12, at 6:35 p.m. The Coach Beam Service Award announcement will take place during the Ballers’ home game v. Modesto Roadsters.

WHERE: Raimondi Park, 1689 20th Street, Oakland, CA

AWARDS: The two Coach Beam Service Award winners will receive individual recognition with a $7,500 stipend and program support through a $5,000 grant for their athletic program. Awards are renewable for up to three years based on continued good standing.

Coach Beam’s Legacy Foundation’s nine-member selection committee will also name two 2026 honorable mention coaches, each receiving a $1,500 donation to their program.

WHY: Coach Beam’s Legacy Foundation is recognizing two 2026 honorees who are known for their dedication to uplifting young people through sport and education in their respective communities of Hayward and Pittsburg. The Coach Beam Service Award highlights coaches of all sports in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties who create safe, supportive environments where student-athletes can truly thrive. By celebrating those who lead with compassion and integrity, the Foundation ensures Coach John Beam’s legacy of unwavering commitment continues for generations to come.
