After a decade away, Greg and Joanne Starkman brought Innersense Organic Beauty back to Walnut Creek, the community where their entrepreneurial journey began.

Founded in 2005, Innersense has grown from a family-owned Bay Area business into a global hair care company with approximately 85 employees and products in 52 countries. Its new Walnut Creek headquarters opened on October 2.

“Coming back to Walnut Creek feels incredibly meaningful to Joanne and me,” said Greg Starkman, Founder and CEO. “This community was part of our early journey, and returning 10 years later with a team of 85 people and a brand that now reaches 52 countries is pretty special.”

The Starkmans began their careers as professional stylists. Becoming parents led them to look more closely at the ingredients they used at home and behind the chair. That inspired them to create high-performance hair care built on transparency, safe ingredients and professional expertise.

“Our growth has never been about being bigger just for the sake of being bigger,” said Joanne Starkman, Founder. “For us, it has always been about creating something meaningful and finding more ways to make a difference through our people, our products and the community around us.”

The company has one Walnut Creek-based position posted, with more roles expected in the fourth quarter.

Innersense is a certified B Corporation and a member of 1% for the Planet. It supports organizations focused on human health, environmental stewardship and safer cosmetics standards.
