Pleasanton Zales Store Blitzed By Smash-And-Grab Crew

As we Flashed to our cadre of loyal subscribers on May 4, it appears one of those mobile crews of smash-and-grab thieves chose the Zales Jewelers store at the Stoneridge Shopping Center  – attacking the business with hammers, axes and pepper spray.

The four-man crew struck at about 11:30 a.m. that Monday, hammering open at least two display cases and keeping employees at bay with chemical agents.

A dollar estimate of goods taken – and what precisely was targeted by the thieves – has not been released either by police or the victim business.

The blitz-style robbery, in which masked thieves swarm into a store, intimidate customers and employees and smash their way into display cases containing jewelry or other high value items, has become a fairly common occurrence in the Bay Area in recent years.

I was at Stoneridge Mall over the weekend and somebody really needs to stick a fork in that place. Well on it’s way to becoming Sunvalley 2.0

Hope the robbers got mom somethin’ nice. She must be so proud.

I guess they’ve gotten really good at doing this by succeding many times at Sun Valley Mall in Concord. Now they’ve decided to branch out and go to a better mall like Pleasanton.

These crews just keep coming back. I wonder what could keep this from happening again? Longer incarceration maybe?
