Horrific Crash On Eastbound Highway 24 In Orinda Wednesday
A wrong-way driver attempting to elude sheriff’s deputies during a chase that took them into Lafayette and back onto eastbound Highway 24, crashed headlong into another vehicle traveling in the eastbound direction – killing at least two.
The driver, subsequently identified as Jesus Valdez, 35, of Oakland, was arrested for allegedly possessing a stolen vehicle, possessing stolen property, reckless evading, evading police causing injury, evading police by driving in the opposite direction and having a warrant for drug trafficking.
