Visitors In Town – Buy ‘Em A Coffee!

Crews from visiting jurisdictions arrive to rake through the embers of the Morgan Fire in Clayton.

An “all clear” has been sounded for the Morgan Fire in Clayton though fresh crews are funneling in for Fire Watch duties to rake through hotspots and prevent re-kindles.

Conditions markedly better than they were yesterday but, still, that’s hard work so if you find yourself in a position to make it happen – stand the visiting crews to a coffee.

I’m very glad and thankful that firefighters are now keeping post watch on fires that they thought were put out.
Some of the most super devastating fires in the past few years have been those that the firefighters thought they had put out but rekindled. Pacific Palisades, most recently and the Oakland Hills fire decades ago.

My son and I bought every Gatorade on the shelves at Safeway and CVS in Clayton. We dropped them off at Cal fire HQ and sheriffs center on Marsh Creek where the fire departments were staging, and every part firefighting we found along the way. We were so grateful for their heroic efforts fighting the Morgan fire.

They’re still up there this morning. Think they’re worried about a restart.
