Police Action On Highway 24 Tuesday
Even the BART train got in on this one.
Multiple jurisdictions, including Lamorinda officers, county sheriffs and CHP were spotted in pursuit of a black Nissan Altima on westbound Highway 24 Tuesday.
The action was eventually curtailed on the freeway just west of Rockridge BART, with the Nissan and another car facing the wrong direction and hemmed in by officers as pictured.
Motorists reported being passed at high speed on the freeway and initial reports were that police wanted the occupants of the Nissan for a shoplifting incident in East County.
What part, if any, the silver car played was not known.

Shoplifters???
Doubt it was shoplifting alone, even BITD no pursuit would have been allowed for that.
Firestone 11R
Yes. We were thinking it was a combination of warrants, past behavior, and maybe some form of aggression inside the store or on their way out. Just spitballing, but that was a hefty response.
… driving the wrong way on a freeway should also be a felony.
