Re: your Nov 30 article “Pleasanton Driver Arrested…After Fatal San Ramon Crash” I would like to express my sympathies to the innocent woman killed in this senseless act while wholeheartedly condemning the driver now accused of killing her.
I realize justice moves slowly but I would argue that driving a high performance car at high speed on that road WHILE DRUNK demands consequences. It is especially sad that this person survived the crash he created while an innocent person died.
Although our neighborhood has attempted to deal with this issue multiple times over the years the problem shows no sign of letting up. People have been killed and continue to die. I hope something more is done than just a perfunctory prison sentence and early release. The victims demand it.
Sincerely,
Bella Madden/San Ramon

Nothing more is going to be done………………….until we’re all forced into self driving cars which will be prohibited from going
over the speed limits.

Oh, I usually drive 80 on the freeway if traffic is light, of course I’ve been to high performance driving school multiple times.

That’s nothing to brag about. Or even to joke about. You *are* kidding, right?
He has a history of posts bragging up his extralegal preferences and life as Supercop!
He was in the reserves, and his posts didn’t sit well with two retired LEOs on another news site.
They don’t have my level of experience.

I agree that roadway is such a draw for excessive speeders and as a consequence terrible accidents. I hope there is something that can be done to alleviate the situation.
Excessive speed is bad enough but when drunk driving is added to the equation, it angers ALL of us. Sadly, we’re all at risk on the road. The only thing that will alleviate this is slowing down and not getting behind the wheel if you’ve been drinking. Wishful thinking.
