Carport Fire Damages Rossmoor Housing Friday

SHARE

Tense moments in Rossmoor this afternoon when fire broke out in a carport below housing units in the 1800 block of Golden Rain Road.

Firefighters arrived quickly to apply chemical foam and water but at least two cars were damaged and units above the blaze also sustained damage.

The blaze, reportedly started when an overheated car caught fire, was called in at 2:44 p.m. There were no injuries.

  1. I am curious. How does a gasoline powered car over-heat? Wouldn’t a driver notice something when he/she/they parked their car?
That was supposedly the cause of a fire that burned down all 8 units in my Mutual 2 building.. There were definitely no sprinklers in G-11 carports then.
The building was completely rebuilt. All of this happened 15 years before I got to Rossmoor.
Now, when I see a fire reported, I ask for the cause. Rossmoor will not tell me
