Reports of some automotive excess and the sound of crunching metal drew Walnut Creek police to Kinross and Marchbanks drives on Sunday – police finding a car abandoned in the road with extensive damage to others in the area.
A search was initiated but it turned out a local youth was behind the wheel of the suspect vehicle, believed to have been inebriated at the time. Neighbors said he remained on scene until police arrived.
Neighbors reported hearing the sound of a crash around 10:19 p.m. Three parked cars were found to have been damaged, the crash captured on video cameras.
Some dude was passed out in a smashed up black car at Safeway on Ygnacio around 1am and about a block up towards shadelands either a bumper or half a tire was in the center lane of Ygnacio
Police took 15 minutes to get there after the 911 call. They weren’t drawn out by the noise. I was surprised it took so long for any emergency vehicles to show up. What if that driver was seriously hurt? Luckily he was able to get out of the vehicle on his own.
