Police from several local agencies combined to comb the area of 11 Orinda Way in Orinda Thursday after a customer reported being held up at gunpoint after an apparent car sale went bad.
The incident was reported at approximately 10:10 p.m. BART trains were requested not to stop at Orinda station as the armed suspect, described as a black male, 5′ 10″, 150 pounds with a mohawk haircut and dreadlocks, was believed to be on foot in the area.
Additional police assets were directed to the area to aid in the search for the suspect, police with long-arms and search dogs joining in the search. The suspect was believed to have escaped with a large amount of money after robbing the victim following the sale of a car. No injuries were reported.
Holy crap it looks like every cop in the county is out there.
did they get him?
And, I will spare you all from my standard “Caldecott Tunnel” remark 🙂
Good!
Feeling like Fallujah around here.
Who goes to a buy a car from a stranger at 10pm? Caveat Emptor smh
that’s what I was thinking….and paid cash. hmmmmm
There never was going to be a sale, just a robbery. CAUTION: Do your EBay/Car deals right in front of the local police department only, some have reserved parking just for this. Use good judgement and get some training. Yippie ki yay, it’s the Wild West out there.

Pretty sketch scenario
Kinda thinking someone was going to get robbed there.
Wow. I see we need not be worried by police staffing levels.
