Note-Passing Bank Robber Visits Lafayette Wells Fargo Tuesday

Police and bank officials still assessing how much cash was lost but a lone robber entered the Wells Fargo bank branch at 3630 Mt. Diablo Boulevard at 2 p.m. Tuesday, passing a note to the teller demanding money.

The suspect, described as a white male in his 30s, bald, blue eyes, wearing a brown beanie, brown hoodie and brown or tan pants, left the bank quickly and is believed to have made it out of the area.

  1. Glad no one was hurt in robbery. Hopefully LEOs will bring peretrator to justice sooner than later. Out of curiousity, how many of us still find the need to venture into the physical confines of our respective financial institutions?

  2. I’m old school. I still walk into the branch. No way am I doing anything financial on my phone, and I’m done with ATMs.
    I’d rather get to know the people I do business with.

    Either bank robbery is on the decline, or I’m seeing it less in the news. I hope he’s caught.

  3. What do they mean in the title of this article when they say he “visits”? It makes it sound like he’s dropping in for a cup of tea.

    • I guess you never had an alcoholic uncle visit and make a surreptitious withdrawal of jewelry or your father’s coin collection. It was like that. Amicable, quick, and quiet.
