Fire at a factory yard in the 2200 block of Central Street in Richmond sent thick clouds of smoke across much of North Richmond, burning for hours after it was initially reported at 10:09 a.m.
The fire appears to be fueled by wooden and plastic pallets and has been burning stubbornly despite firefighters best efforts to knock it down. Officials have advised residents downwind of the smoke plume to stay indoors.
There have been no reports of injuries or information as to possible cause at this time.
