Car Believed Involved In Running Gun Battle Found Abandoned In Lafayette Saturday

Lamorinda police are converging (4:20 p.m.) on the area of Shreve Lane and Pleasant Hill Road after a bullet-riddled car believed involved in a running gunfight with a second vehicle was found abandoned in the area.

Police responding to reports of the damaged Infiniti running east on Highway 24 from the Caldecott Tunnel located the vehicle in Lafayette and detained a male suspect they believed to be the driver after a short foot chase.

Officers are believed to be searching the car and its contents. We’ll have more on this story as it develops.
