Pedestrian Killed On Highway 24 Near Fish Ranch Early Saturday

The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal car vs. pedestrian collision on eastbound Highway 24 east of Fish Ranch Road early Saturday morning.

Officers and firefighters were called to the scene at around 3 a.m. and a victim was found in the area. Life-saving measures were undertaken without success, and the unidentified victim was declared deceased a short time later.

Preliminary indications were that the victim was walking in the middle lanes of the freeway when they were struck and killed.

    It seems Highway 24 as of late has been the venue of multiple fatalities and incidents…..hmmmm

      I would suggest it falls victim to the problems of other freeway with the same problem – speed and sightlines.

      Another fatality? Yes, second one on the Castro Valley side of the county line on Crow Canyon outside San Ramon.
