Summary

Vegetation fire which originated from an electrical event from a power pole next to the roadway on Camino Diablo Boulevard. There was evidence of an event with electrical equipment — wiring and pole. All other competent ignition sources were eliminated.

Conclusions

Investigation determined the fire was initiated by an electrical event/failure at the transformer located on the pole at Latitude 37.899733, Longitude -122.090798, causing fire and sparks to fall to the ground igniting the vegetation in the surrounding area. The fires in the surrounding vegetation were driven by a north wind and communicated to the structure located to the south of Camino Diablo Boulevard.
