California High School Student Arrested On Suspicion Of Sexually Assaulting Other Students

SHARE

Following weeks of speculation about an ongoing sexual assault investigation at California High School, San Ramon Valley school district officials confirmed that a student was arrested last month and jailed on suspicion of sexually assaulting three other students.

District officials said they contacted the San Ramon Police Department as soon as they learned of the alleged attacks, with police contacting the student and making an arrest following their examination of events – which went unspecified.

The student was reportedly booked into Juvenile Hall.

District officials declined to comment on the case and said they refrained from informing parents in deference to existing privacy laws pertaining to minors and to limit the spread of rumors.

  1. May be the policy, but they again fail to advise parents timely. Parents have a right to know of the incident with no names mentioned so we can have that ‘ chat’ with our children.

  2. Transparency is always best. If you let these things go unanswered, the rumors will just grow and grow. I’m amazed the schools aren’t better at this.

  3. Extremely difficult story to digest and to wrap our heads around. Apparently the kids were talking about this for some time. Hopefully the adults will address it and come up with alternative methods for getting information of this type out to people who need it in the future. I just hope we won’t need to.

  4. What kind of charges are we talking about here? I mean was force involved or are we talking about in incident at a party??? Suspicion of sexual assault leaves it open to interpretation.
