Thanks to an alert reader we shifted our attention to Wiget Lane and Comista Drive yesterday, Wednesday, upon hearing of a “small army” of police converging on the area.

Neighbors and passersby said a man appeared to have been taken into custody and police have confirmed their presence in the neighborhood as well as the arrest.

It turns out a resident in the 900 block of Wiget called police to report a man inside her home – definitely uninvited.

That “small army” of police arrived and Randy Richards, age and hometown unknown, was taken into custody on suspicion of residential burglary, possession of stolen property, having an outstanding warrant as well as for a probation violation.

Mr. Richards was removed from the neighborhood and given a ride to county jail, courtesy of Walnut Creek PD.

  1. Hmm…. Another crime being committed by someone that was out on parole / wanted on a warrant. When are we citizens going to get mad enough to demand that our California politicians change this practice? Are politicians supposed to work for the benefit and safety of the citizen? Our politicians now are more concerened about the criminals than us good, tax paying citizens.

    • Lock your doors they look for any opening unlocked gate unlocked doors the supposedly safer neighbor hood’s in affluent communities are primer for picking the neighbors don’t know each other well the doors are never locked and 90 % of the area is vacant from 8 am to 2 pm during the school year. Plus Google let’s them know where the egress’ and escape routes are. Or it could be politicians?

  2. I don’t think I would have handled that very well. The thought of seeing someone coming into my home. Just wow.
