A fire off Solano Way in Concord burned grassland and several vehicles Thursday, bringing firefighters on the run and creating a few tense moments before things could be brought under control.
The blaze was reported just before 1 p.m. at Solano Way and Arnold Industrial Place, quickly burning through at least three vehicles and throwing up a sizable smoke plume as fire crept into adjacent grass.
Firefighters and police closed Solano Way to facilitate the firefighting effort and an investigator was summoned to look into the cause of the blaze.
