“Hey… So… What’re You Doing After The March?”

News24/680 Photo

Quite a week in the 24/680 with lingering questions about a Lafayette homicide and Concord chemical spill and various and sundry other things capturing our attention.

Neighborhood chatter about the aforementioned appears to be diminishing as informational gaps fill in and attention turns to the price of gasoline, burgers, and ammo – the country’s foundational cornerstones – and the upcoming No Kings turnout planned to hit the streets on March 28.

We know things are building when questions we’re getting include “how early do I need to get to SFO to make my flight?” and “is it gauche to bring a casserole to a No Kings after-party?”

We’re not Miss Manners and we’re not up on the social etiquette of pro-democracy street marchers but we’ll say interest in the day appears to be building – even spawning a few romances as like-minded people gather in our streets and the heat of a “gentle revolution” stirs passions among consenting adults. Good luck there, modern lovers…

People are asking us about planned demonstrations and gathering places but that’s not our job so we’ll just place a link to a map showing participating sites and staging areas. We’ll be out and about on the Big Day but we’ve been to a few of these now and unless the marches demand additional attention we’ll be measured in our coverage. Everyone have fun, be safe, and bring some sunscreen.

Again, if you have a position you would like to take or a – civil – point you would like to make on points relative to the No Kings movement, please consider writing to our Letters To The Editor section. We’re interested in what you have to say,
