Police Action In Antio… Uh, Walnut Creek Thursday

Late-night city street-crawlers like us noted the presence of a sizable force of police officers from Brentwood and Antioch in Walnut Creek last night and – after stopping to scratch our little heads – we wondered if it was part of some sort of collaborative enforcement effort which apparently, it was.

Current and former LEO’s (that’s law enforcement officer to you civvies) identified the visitors as part of a VSET (Vehicle Saturation Enforcement Team) effort administered by the CHP for the purpose of recovering stolen vehicles and arresting alleged ne’er do wells.

From what we could see they had some success as more than one person was apparently remanded to the Greybar Hotel for further administration of justice.

Usually a waste of money, but the State of California is very good at wasting money. Nice that they caught ONE, with
the $30,000 expenditure. We’ll see what out local DA does with it.
