Replica Handgun Prompts Lockdown At Las Lomas High Friday – Student Detained

A Las Lomas High School student who brought a replica handgun on campus and allegedly showed it to others was detained after the school declared a lockdown and police moved in to look for both student and weapon.

Administrators declared the school in lockdown at 10:37am after a student was observed showing the replica firearm to others in the school library.

Heavily armed Walnut Creek police responded to the school immediately, initiating a search for the responsible student and detaining them shortly afterward.

The replica firearm, a pistol of undetermined type, was recovered and confiscated.
