Crews Battle Fires In Walnut Creek And Martinez Friday

Smoky night with small fire in the 2700 block of N. Main St. in Walnut Creek and a larger one (10 acres, 2 Alarms) in the 2700 block of Franklin Canyon Road in Martinez.

Firefighters battled steep terrain as well as flames. The Martinez fire was reported shortly before 10pm.

Traffic on Franklin Canyon was stopped for most of the evening.

Crews put down a fire of suspicious origin in Walnut Creek Friday.
