Smash-And-Grab Crew Robs Concord Mall Jewelry Kiosk Wednesday
Note: Archive photo from a previous robbery
Four subjects dressed in hoodies, wearing gloves and armed with hammers and pepper spray attacked the Piercing Pagoda kiosk at Sunvalley Mall on Wednesday, pepper spraying an employee and escaping with an unknown amount of merchandise.
Shoppers confused the sound of breaking glass with gunshots shortly after noon, bringing police on the run only to find that the crew had smashed their way into display cases and taken jewelry.
Witnesses reported that the crew left the area in a dark SUV before police arrived. The employee who was pepper sprayed did not require treatment.

I resented it when a friend: once referred to Sun Valley Mall as “Scum Valley”…but the more I hear and see there, she may be right. Shame.

The sound of a broken record. Remember that? Remember how much you wanted it to stop?
so no gunshots right? people said they heard gunshots,.
No gunfire, thankfully…
Is there anything left to steal out there?
Yeah, there’s a lot left to steal. I have lived here 30+ years and never feared for my safety or possessions. I have not been invaded except by misinformed fear and ignorance, and it flourishes now. It is encouraged now.
I thought they caught all these guys.
It doesn’t mean anything in the context of this thread but I haven’t visited a shopping mall in decades. I do believe their time has passed but we’ll let others make that final decision.
Robbers gonna go where the jewels and money are.
True.
