Overdue Hiker Triggers Widespread Search In Las Trampas

Fresh crews are arriving to renew a search for a 75-year-old hiker overdue after he ventured into the Las Trampas Wilderness Preserve and was reported missing Tuesday night.

Helicopters and multi-agency responders turned out to initiate a search for the missing man Tuesday night, with the activity sparking multiple inquiries to this site. Fog in the area hampered the search effort we were told Tuesday.

Additional searchers and canine search teams are mobilizing for a fresh search effort Wednesday morning, with crews marshaling at Danville city offices before entering the preserve.
