Walnut Creek Home Damaged By Fire Monday; Occupant Injured

Firefighters responding to reports of a house fire on 1st Avenue in Walnut Creek this afternoon were met by heavy smoke and flames upon arrival, adjacent vegetation further limiting their access to the scene.

Sadly, the occupant of the home required transportation to a local hospital. The nature of her injuries was unknown.

The fire was reported at 12:42pm and its cause remains under investigation.
