A motorcyclist traveling in the southbound lanes of Interstate 680 near mid-span of the Benicia Bridge Tuesday apparently lost control and went down in the fast lane, landing in an adjacent lane where he was struck by the rear wheels of a passing semi-truck, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Investigators determined that the rider, whose name has yet to be released, was traveling at low speed at the time of the crash. They reportedly lost control of their bike at around 7:58 a.m. and were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP.
The three left lanes of southbound I-680 were closed for CHP investigation at approximately 8:13 a.m., and reopened at 10:33 a.m.

Very sad! I believe that the wind gusts got to the motorcyclist!
I was headed north on the bridge within minutes of this- wondering why the southbound side was stopped- while my car was being randomly buffeted by strong gusts of wind. Shame…sounds as if they were going slow for that reason.
