Overly affectionate thieves preying on area residents fond of wearing their jewelry made off with a necklace in Danville Tuesday after approaching the victim as if to give her a hug.

The theft was reported at approximately 12:37pm in the 1700 block of Camino Ramon with the victim approached by the occupant of a blue or grey Jeep Cherokee with heavy rear window tint who removed her necklace before racing back to the waiting car, a second man at the wheel.

The thieves were last seen driving north on Camino Ramon. Their victim was not believed injured though she was seen by an ambulance crew.

Initial description of the thieves was believed to be of two heavy-set white or Hispanic males. We’ll carry a more detailed description should one come.

  1. An unfortunate episode to say the least. It goes without saying we need to be cognizant of our surroundings and vigilant of our personal space when out and about.
