We Flashed word of a possible armed robbery in Concord Sunday night, subscribers reporting police activity in the area of Pacheco Street and Mt. Diablo Street with arrests underway.

Our information was that the incident occurred at approximately 8:35pm but police on Monday put the time at 9p.m., confirming that they had been dispatched to a reported armed robbery in the area.

In a Facebook post, Concord PD reported:

Within 2 minutes, an officer spotted two individuals matching the suspects’ descriptions walking through a nearby parking lot. Upon being approached, the suspects fled, prompting officers to pursue them on foot. Both suspects were quickly apprehended, and officers recovered loaded firearms from each individual. Stolen property from the Victim was also recovered.

“The suspects, both juveniles, were arrested, booked at the Concord Jail, and subsequently transported to Juvenile Hall.

As neighbors related to us and we reported, police appeared to be looking for evidence and possibly a third suspect in the area. A third juvenile was eventually located and arrested and that person was also transported to Juvenile Hall.

The ages and home towns of the three juveniles was not immediately provided by police, who credited the swift action of the robbery victim with aiding in the arrests.

  1. Oh my word, young people misbehaving. I’m sure their parents will scold them and they’ll never do it again.

  2. I would like to see their pictures and identities posted. Considering they are robbing people at gunpoint, the whole protect the juvenile thing is moot. We the community have a right to know who these guys are, so we can avoid them.

    • We find it odd that people who know so little about us are usually the most assertive as to our capabilities, methods…

  3. In defense of the site, they work with the information they get. Juvi info is usually unobtainable.

      • The comment “too woke” is bit ponderous, and from my standpoint does not apply to the good folks at 24/680. As Firestone 11R alluded, juvenile police records are disclosed to only a chosen few, and the general public is not included. California Welfare & Institutions Code Section 827.9. (Do not operate heavy machinery during your perusal).

Not to mention, horrendously overused and misunderstood.

Thanks, Jeff! (Side mumbling to intern: “Jeez, the Jeffs are standing up for us today!)

  4. I’m sorry to say but I have a feeling they’re going to get off very lightly. Probably no punishment at all. They deserve to spend some time behind bars maybe a week or two in prison to scare the hell out of them so they never want to do it again. That’s the problem: we have removed all threat of discomfort for criminals. They know it and they have no fear.
    – but we the public live in fear of them.

  5. Lucky nobody got killed. Due to the serious nature (armed robbery), these criminals should be kept off the streets for a long time. They will probably continue their anti social behavior into adulthood. Very sad.

  6. We live in that area and a young black man wanted to sell my wife magazines. She didn’t feel comfortable and told him to leave over the camera. I thought ‘wow we can’t even feel comfortable with kids these days, how silly’. Then I read this.. how scary
