Shooting In Pleasant Hill Monday; One Wounded

SHARE

A flurry of gunfire erupted outside a popular Pleasant Hill restaurant Monday, sending witnesses scurrying for cover and at least one person to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the hand.

It could not be immediately determined if a custody exchange gone wrong was the cause of the incident, though a woman was reportedly seen chasing a car with someone in that vehicle firing in her direction.

Witnesses reported a primary exchange of gunfire between a white Ford Explorer and a white Chevy Malibu outside Caspar’s restaurant, 6 Vivian Drive in Pleasant Hill. One person, a juvenile, was taken to Children’s Hospital with a minor gunshot wound to the hand.

Two women were reportedly seen leaving the immediate area and attempting to hide nearby. Their involvement, if any, was not immediately known, though spent casings were seen in the area and at least two cars were peppered by gunfire.

Police immediately closed off the area and shut down Contra Costa Boulevard northbound at Ellinwood and southbound at Doris. Officers were responding to several locations in search of additional evidence and witnesses. News24/680 saw at least two cars with several bullet holes in the windshield and door panels.

  1. Saw someone hanging out the door of that Expedition as it was fleeing the scene and another woman chasing it. I thought someone was being abducted. Holy crap, wild times!

  2. And here I thought the earlier news of the Caldecott Tunnel MVA/fire; Moraga Way multi-vehicle MVA, Orinda house fire and the Lens Crafters-Concord situation, was “enough” for the a single day. But now afternoon gunplay in Pleasant Hill. Tis the season….Everyone be safe and vigilant !
